Word Mapping
Word Mapping helps your Practice translate everyday phrases into clinical terminology automatically. This lets Providers speak naturally during visits while still generating accurate, consistent documentation.
Where Word Mapping lives
Word Mapping management is available on the web app only (not on iPad or iPhone). The mappings are used in every visit, regardless of where recorded.
- Log into the web version of subQdocs.
- In the left-hand menu, click Personalization.
- Select the Word Mapping tab.
Review existing mappings
- Browse the list of built-in mappings.
- These cover common dermatology phrases so subQdocs can interpret conversational language correctly.
Edit an existing mapping
- Click any mapping in the list.
- Update what you need:
- Change the colloquial term(s)
- Adjust the clinical diagnosis
- Delete the mapping entirely
- Save your changes.
Add a new word mapping
- Click Add Word Mapping (upper-right).
- Enter one or more terms your team actually says (example: “Christmas light decorations”).
- Press Enter after each term to add it to the list.
- Enter the clinical diagnosis or diagnoses the phrase should map to (example: “cherry angiomas”).
- Save the mapping.
How it behaves during visits
- When you use your natural phrasing during a visit, subQdocs automatically converts it into the mapped clinical terminology.
- This helps keep notes clean without forcing Providers to change how they speak in the room.
Thanks for using Word Mapping. If you have a phrase your team says all the time, adding a mapping is usually the fastest way to improve note consistency.
